Welcome to The Anxious Girl’s Guide to Dating.
For several years I’ve contemplated starting a blog that shares my experiences and insights into the world of dating. My whole life I have dealt with anxiety in various forms and few things have made me more aware of my anxiety than dating.
Technically I’ve had doctors tell me I’m living with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Non-technically I’ve just always known I’m “always nervous.” Sometimes, something as simple as picking up a phone can feel like scaling the side of a volcano. Pooping in public restrooms (more on that later) can feel impossible. I once had to bribe myself (more on that later, too) to kiss a guy on the forehead while he was asleep.
I’ve created this blog in hopes of creating a space for people — boys and girls — who also navigate the world through the lens of anxiety.
Phobia disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, panic disorder, anxiety disorders, etc….sometimes it’s just nice to read a story and go “yep, totally been there.”
I will share it all. Everything. It’s going to get awkward and weird.
I can’t wait.
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to telling you about the first time I tried to make out with a guy I had a crush on (*spoiler alert* I ended up crying).
