An exciting new project is developing online, founded by CollegeHumor’s Jenny Jaffe. Diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (waddup girl!), and Panic DIsorder as a child, Jaffe created Project UROK as a resource for people experiencing similar struggles she’s gone through.
The project looks to create and share videos that speak to the mental health community, sharing experiences and tips with humor, and honesty. You might recognize Mara Wilson, beloved Matilda from our childhoods, sharing a breathing technique she uses. The project looks to create comfort, a sense of belonging, and hope. Basically EVERYTHING I believe in and care about.
Project UROK wants to de-stigmatize mental illness and combat isolation. Head on over and spend some time watching a few videos and maybe create one of your own.
Thank you, Jenny Jaffe, for breathing fresh life and beauty into the world of mental illness. We need more people like you waving the light saber of humor at the mouth-breathing Darth Vader of our minds.
